German media write that Ukraine sent Germany an official request for the provision of Taurus cruise missiles.

A spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense confirmed this information and added that the request had been received in the past few days. However, he did not disclose other details, including the number of missiles requested.
Earlier, a member of the German opposition party spoke in favor of transferring Taurus long-range missiles to Ukraine. According to him, they will allow “to strike at the Russian military infrastructure far behind the front line.” The Minister of Defense reacted to this proposal with caution.
Taurus is a kind of analogue of the British Storm Shadow. The cruise missile is launched from a fighter jet and can deliver a 400-kilogram warhead over 500 kilometers.
