Xiaomi introduced Redmi A2 and Redmi A2 +: budget smartphones with Helio G36 processor and 5000 mAh battery

Xiaomi has quietly added two budget smartphones to its range: Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+. There were no presentations or any announcements – new items just appeared on the company’s website. Both smartphones are good value for money and will be sold in the global market.

What was shown

The models are almost identical both externally and in terms of characteristics. Both are equipped with 6.52-inch HD+ screens with a resolution of 1600×720, MediaTek Helio G36 processors and 5000 mAh batteries with support for 10-watt charging via a Micro USB port. There are versions with 2/32 and 3/32 GB of memory to choose from.

The cameras are also quite simple: 5 MP front and dual main with 8 MP sensor and an additional QVGA lens.

The devices are running the Android 12 Go operating system.

What then is the difference? It is minimal: the Redmi A2+ has a fingerprint scanner on the back, while the regular Redmi A2 does not.

The cost of Redmi A2 and Redmi A2 + is still unknown.
