Internet users are willing to sacrifice online anonymity for the sake of content purity. This is evidenced by the data of the ROCIT poll, report “Vedomosti”.

When choosing between anonymity and security, the former is chosen by 58% of the respondents, and the latter – by 28%. 51% of those surveyed support the identification of Internet users.

If such a choice is not worth it, then even more respondents (78%) have a positive attitude to Internet security measures.

55% of Russians were in favor of removing dangerous content, 53% were in favor of blocking sites, and 43% were in favor of labeling harmful and illegal content. The right to anonymity on the Internet was supported by 64% of respondents, to freedom of speech – 38%, to open access to information – 13%.

40% of the respondents blame the users themselves for the publication of destructive content, and 33% believe that the platform where the illegal information was posted is to blame.
