The US Air Force intends to decommission 57 F-15C and F-15D fighters at once. They are already almost 40 years old, and the service life is coming to an end. At the moment, the US Air Force has purchased only two F-15EX Eagle II fighters. However, the Pentagon requests funds to buy 24 more Boeing aircraft in fiscal year 2024 along with 48 F-35 Lightning IIs.
