BlackBerry will return in 2021, with a range of 5G smartphones

If you recall the 2010 time period, you’ll most definitely remember your dad with an inbuilt keyboard, using a BlackBerry phone for  official work. The nostalgia ended last year, when BlackBerry announced that its partnership with TCL is ending. Well, if you feel sad too, don’t worry, you ‘re not alone. However, it was revealed yesterday that the brand is now partnering with OnwardMobility and FIH Mobile Limited to make a smartphone of 5G BlackBerry Android with a physical QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry To Launch 5G Phones In 2021

In BlackBerry’s CEO ‘s words, “BlackBerry is thrilled that OnwardMobility will deliver a BlackBerry 5G  smartphone device with physical keyboard leveraging our high trust and security standards that are synonymous with our brand.” We are excited that the new BlackBerry 5G smartphone will offer security and mobile productivity to customers at the enterprise and government level

As for the press release, the only thing mentioned is that in the first half of 2021 the first smartphone will be released and it will be launched in North America and Europe, so keep your hopes in check if you expect it to come to India.

This is meant primarily for business or office goers, as this is what BlackBerry devices do best. They were always intended for professionals, rather than the general public. Additionally, as we keep seeing glass slabs with rectangular designs, it’ll be quite a refreshing device, and this will be a huge departure from the same. The only skepticism will be whether the brand will be able to suffice in the hotly contested market since, in its previous life, the brand made a few mistakes. We hope this resurrection will be used to improve upon the same.
