Apple released the iPhone 11 series in India in September last year at a starting price of Rs. 64.990. In comparison to other brands, the prices of iPhones have since risen due to the GST hike in April earlier this year. Although the base 64 GB version of the iPhone 11 is now retailing at Rs. 68,300 on Amazon India and the newly launched Apple online store, the smartphone will be on sale at the upcoming Great Indian Festival of Amazon for under Rs. 50,000.
Amazon is now teasing that during the sale, the iPhone 11 would go on sale anywhere between Rs. 40,999 and Rs. 49,999. And if the actual price is Rs. 49,999 during the sale, which is most likely, then we’re looking at a huge discount of Rs. 18,300.
You should consider shelling out some moolah at this price to get yourself an iPhone 11. The iPhone 11 still has a lot going for it, with an A13 Bionic chip, Face ID, and dual 12MP cameras.
That said, it should be noted that the discount for iPhone 11 comes at a time when the iPhone 12 lineup of Apple (with all versions with OLED displays as opposed to the LCD display on board iPhone 11) is just around the corner. Therefore, if you’re someone who wants to buy the latest and best of what Apple has to sell, then it’s obviously safer to wait in the country for the iPhone 12 to launch.
On the other hand, whether you’re on a tight budget or looking to join the gated Apple ecosystem or update your old iPhone, with the upcoming sales discount, the iPhone 11 would be a reasonable choice.
The exact dates of the Great Indian Festival have not been disclosed by Amazon yet. However, in the second week of October, we would expect the event to take place, probably kicking off around October 14.
