Google Now Lets You Connect with Microsoft Word , Excel or PPT App Files

-

Google provides one of the most effective collaboration resources accessible through Files, Slides, and Boards. These are not limited to users of G Suite, but to the public. It encourages you to collaborate with teammates or friends on a project at any time, from wherever. The organisation has recently improved collaboration by encouraging users to work on MS Office files from the internet. Today , Google is also allowing this functionality for Android users of G Suite.

The company increases mobile productivity by providing you with the option of uploading any Word , Excel or PowerPoint files to Google Drive and working with others in real time without the need to convert them to any other format. All three applications, including Docs, Boards, and Slides have been modified to accommodate this feature. It is supported by default, and administrators do not need to adjust any settings to allow collaboration for MS Office files.

In an official blog post, Google notes that the “tool adds the collaboration and assistive capabilities of G Suite to your Microsoft Office files when you use your Android computer.” It also lists the compatible file forms that you can find attached below:

  • Word files: .doc, .docx, .dot
  • Excel files: .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlt
  • Powerpoint files: .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .pot

The greatest advantage of this feature is that you don’t have to go to the bother of transferring Office files to an older format. It will save time and help streamline the workflow by expanding the collaboration opportunities available to G Suite customers. This feature is now rolled out and is planned to hit all within the next two weeks.
