Follow the steps below to create a chart in Google Docs:

  1. Click the Insert tab, hover the cursor over Chart, and select a chart.
  2. Click the three dots beside the Linked Chart button and select Open Source.
  3. Change the data on the axis of the chart and customize the chart.
  4. Go back to Google Docs and click the Update button on the chart.
  5. The chart is updated.
