The Polish Ministry of Defense ordered the K2 Black Panther tanks and K9 Thunder self-propelled howitzers for $3.4 billion and $2.4 billion, respectively. Deliveries began in December last year and will last until 2026.

The first batch included 15 tanks. They were transferred to the 1st tank battalion of the 15th mechanized brigade, which is part of the 16th mechanized division.
