Raytheon has rebranded – the manufacturer of Patriot and Tomahawk is now officially called RTX

U.S. defense contractor Raytheon Technologies dropped its centennial name this week. The company rebranded as part of a revision of its corporate strategy.

What is known

The manufacturer of MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, Tomahawk cruise missiles and other weapons is now called RTX. Do not confuse with new video cards from NVIDIA.

The rebrand comes three years after Raytheon merged with aerospace manufacturer United Technologies Corp. and formed Raytheon Technologies. Since then, the shares have been traded on the exchange under the ticker RTX.

In the summer of 2022, the company announced it was moving its headquarters to Arlington, Virginia. Plans were announced this year to reorganize into three brands: Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon.

The restructuring is necessary to better align the company’s business with customer priorities, improve productivity and use resources more efficiently. This spring was announced by Christopher Calio, chief operating officer of RTX.
