A miner with relatively weak hardware was able to single-handedly mine a Bitcoin block. This was reported by the pool administrator Ckpool.
What is known
The hashrate of the Bitcoin network is over 367 EH/s, and the power of the miner equipment is 750 TH/s. For understanding, 1 EH/s is equal to 1 million TH/s. Thus, the probability of mining a Bitcoin block was estimated at 1 in 489,333.
The miner mined block number 790,958 and received a reward of 6.25 BTC, i.e. approximately $170,000. Of this amount, he will have to pay more than $10,000 in transaction fees ($6,700) and Ckpool pool services ($3,400).
