The US Air Force has published a video of the first flight of the B-2 Spirit nuclear bomber after almost a six-month pause

Today we wrotethat the B-2 Spirit nuclear bombers are returning to the sky after almost a six-month pause. The US Air Force Global Strike Command has released a video of the first flight.

What is known

The B-2 Spirit fleet is based at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, although one aircraft is located in Hawaii. He landed at the airport in Honolulu during the mission, where he was caught by the decision to stop flying.

Videos of stealth aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons are a huge rarity. The new video was dedicated to the resumption of flights of strategic aircraft. The 36-second video shows the B-2 leaving the hangar, pulling onto the runway and taking off into the air.

Despite a pause that began in the first half of December 2022, B-2 Spirits were available for missions critical to US national security. Earlier, the head of the Global Strike Command said that in case of urgent need, the US Air Force could use nuclear bombers in spite of the flight ban.

The video also states that the B-2 Spirit crew and maintenance personnel remained on standby during the pause. The pilots spent time on the advanced simulators installed at Whiteman Base, while the maintenance crew monitored the stealth cover.
