The UK is going to buy modern 155-mm Archer self-propelled artillery from BAE Systems.

What is known

The information was shared by Shephard. We are talking about 6-8 installations. The UK and Sweden will sign a contract for the purchase of self-propelled guns in the near future. ACS Archer will be replaced in the British army AS-90who will go to Ukraine. By the way, Ukraine will also receive Archer. Sweden promised to transfer 12 installations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Archer is a modern Swedish 155mm self-propelled artillery mount based on the Volvo A30D 6×6 chassis. It is designed to destroy manpower, artillery batteries, bunkers, as well as to provide passages in minefields and field barriers. ACS serve 3-4 people. It is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 60 km (with Excalibur shells). Archer can fire over 21 projectiles in 3.5 minutes.
