We already wrote that a T-72 tank was spotted in Utah. As it turned out, this is a Czech modernization, which was ordered by the US Army.
What is known
The first photos of the combat vehicle were published by Dave Trojan, a retired aircraft technician of the US Navy. The tank was covered with a tarpaulin, but later a photo of a combat vehicle with a partially open cover appeared on social networks. This picture allowed us to determine the type of tank.
As it turned out, the T-72 M5 SCARAB arrived in the USA. This is a tank of the Czech company Excalibur Army. The US Army ordered a combat vehicle for testing. For this reason, the tank is transported to the Aberdeen Proving Ground.
The T-72 M5 SCARAB is equipped with DYNA dynamic protection and a 618 kW engine. The combat vehicle is capable of speeds up to 60 km/h. The US Army ordered two tanks worth almost $460,000.
