Volkswagen is looking for an EV software partner in China.
What is known
According to the Financial Times, one of the main contenders for this role is Huawei Corporation. If the companies agree, then Volkswagen electric cars in China will come out with the HarmonyOS operating system on board. Such a partnership will allow the German manufacturer to integrate local services into their cars.
For those who are not in the know
Huawei introduced HarmonyOS in 2019 after being hit by US stations. Initially, the system was positioned as a replacement for Android in smartphones, but now the OS can also be found in TVs, electric cars and household appliances.
