Amazon showed Project Kuiper satellite Internet terminals, which will provide speeds up to 1 GB / s

Internet commerce giant Amazon has revealed what Project Kuiper satellite internet terminals will be like. They differ in size and data transfer speed.

What is known

Project Kuiper is SpaceX’s Starlink competitor. Amazon has received approval to put more than 3,000 satellites into orbit. The first launch of spacecraft is scheduled for 2024, after which the company will test satellite Internet. By 2026, 3,236 Amazon satellites should be in orbit.

As for the terminals, the company will offer three versions. The standard model has an 11” square antenna. It is aimed at home use and will provide data transfer rates up to 400 Mbps.

The compact terminal is equipped with a 7” antenna. This is a mobile version that can be quickly transported from place to place and used on the go. The maximum data transfer rate will be 100 Mbps.

Finally, the third version is focused on corporate use. The terminal is equipped with a 48 x 76 cm rectangular antenna. The maximum data transfer rate is 1 GB/s.

The cost of the terminals has not yet been specified, but it is known that the cost of the standard version (11”) will be less than $400. By comparison, SpaceX offers Starlink consumer terminals for $599.
