Kratos received .7 million to supply BQM-167A unmanned targets for the US Air Force

At the beginning of March we wrotethat Kratos Defense & Solutions received almost $50 million to produce BQM-177A SSAT aerial targets for the US Air Force. A few days later, the service ordered another batch of drones.

What is known

This time we are talking about unmanned targets BQM-167A. The US Air Force has allocated $21.7 million to Kratos Defense & Solutions for the production and delivery of 17 drones under the Air Force Subscale Aerial Targets (AFSAT) program.

The deal follows the original contract, covering batches #17-21. The amount of the agreement was $338 million and could be increased to $374 million if all options are met. The new agreement, in addition to air targets, involves the supply of additional equipment.

The BQM-167A is equipped with a turbojet engine that allows the drone to reach speeds of 1135 km/h (M = 0.92) at an altitude of 15.24 km. The maximum flight range is 2600 km, and the duration is 3 hours.
