The draft budget of the US Air Force suggests an increase in the purchase of fighters F-15EX Eagle II. The service decided to purchase more modernized aircraft than planned a few days ago.
What is known
Initially, the US Air Force wanted to order 144 fourth-generation F-15EX Eagle II fighters. Over time, the service abandoned 64 aircraft. Experts called such a reduction unjustified and called for the F-15EX to be abandoned altogether, since this number is not enough for effective integration into combat aviation.

Now the US Air Force though to purchase 104 aircraft. And 24 fighters should be put into service in fiscal year 2024, which will begin on October 1. The F-15EX Eagle II will replace the 40-year-old F-15 C/D Eagle aircraft assigned to the US Air National Guard.
The F-15EX Eagle II was introduced in 2018 and is the latest version of the Eagle. Last year, he was able to launch an air-to-air missile for the first time. In the future, the upgraded fighter will become the carrier of hypersonic weapons.
