Embers of Neltharion’s long-awaited 10.1 update for World of Warcraft will introduce inter-faction guilds, and the main reason for this is that the developers want Alliance friends to be able to play with Horde friends.
What is known
Ion Hazzikostas explains that World of Warcraft’s cross-faction play initial access last year was a hit, and many players jumped at the chance to switch sides and try playing as a different faction. However, not everything was so rosy and many players complained about the lack of certain features such as guild chat and guild banks.
“We see the ability to join the opposing faction guilds that have been working on Embers of Naltharion as a solution to this problem,” Hazikostas said. “We still want to make this feature playable. It won’t offer you opposing faction guilds. But if you you have friends who are playing with the opposite faction, we want to remove those barriers as much as possible.”
When to expect
There is no official release date for Embers of Neltharion, but we do know that it will include a new raid with nine different bosses and an expansion of the Dragonflight story.
