Amazon Fire TV now supports SonyLIV, Voot & More Live TV streaming.

We’re only a few days away from the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale, which this time around will last an entire month. And today, we were given another new excuse by Amazon to consider purchasing its Fire TV Handle. It has launched an update to add support to its Fire TV devices in India for live TV channels.

Users can see two new tabs with this update:’ Live’ and ‘On Now’ on the home page of Fire TV. The former will bring you SonyLIV, Voot, NextG TV, and Discovery+ live TV channels. Sony SAB HD, Colors HD, SET HD, Nick HD+, Dangal, DD National, News18 India, MTV Beats HD, SONY BBC Earth HD, Mastii TV Music, and Discovery are common channels.

Amazon plans to partner soon with Zee5 to also get their channels on board. You can get access to Zee ‘s channels, such as Zee TV, Zee Cinema, and Zee News, until that happens. It goes without saying that to use these services, you need separate subscriptions.

On the other hand, to quickly signal real-time progress, the ‘On Now’ segment will display programmes that are live on other networks along with a red progress bar on the thumbnail. To turn to your favourite channels, you can also use voice commands like Alexa, Watch Colors HD”

The ‘Online’ and ‘On Now’ tabs are currently being rolled out by Amazon to all existing customers of Fire TV and Fire TV Version. It is worth remembering that you need to download the applications for these services on Fire TV with the ‘On Now’ TV tab.

The Live tab will be available for new customers in the coming weeks.
